The Department of Islamic Affairs announces the start of the Hajj pilgrim nomination period for the 1448 AH Hajj season tomorrow, Sunday
Kuwait City, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced the opening of the nomination period for Hajj pilgrims for the 1448 AH season, starting tomorrow, Sunday, in accordance with the procedures and regulations approved by the ministry.
In a press statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry said that nominees would receive nomination notifications via the "Sahl" app. Each nominee is required to register with one of the Hajj companies within three days of receiving the notification.
The ministry clarified that completing registration requires paying the advance deposit set by the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah for each pilgrim in the group. It emphasized that "registration with a Hajj campaign is not possible without paying the advance deposit," and that nominations will be canceled if registration with a Hajj company is not completed within the specified deadline.
It added that a nominee receiving a nomination notification for the first time may postpone their nomination once via the "Sahl" app. However, those who were previously nominated for the 1447 AH Hajj season and postponed their nomination are not entitled to postpone it again. The ministry noted that "postponement applies to the entire application and individual members cannot be postponed separately."
To facilitate communication between nominees and Hajj companies, the ministry pointed out the possibility of visiting the Eighth Hajj and Umrah Exhibition ("Labbaik") or the companies' offices. The exhibition opens tomorrow and runs for seven days, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Kuwait International Fairgrounds in the External Hall (B).
The ministry specified the requirements for registering with Hajj campaigns, which include uploading a personal photo and a passport photo via the "Sahl" app, and a civil ID photo via the "Huwiyati" app, along with the required advance payment to secure the booking. It also stipulated that the passport must have a validity of at least six months from the date of the pilgrims' departure and remain valid until February 2027.
Regarding organizational deadlines, the ministry stressed the necessity of paying the first installment immediately upon receiving the nomination notification, and completing the payment of the contracted Hajj package by November 1, 2026. This date also marks the final deadline for transfers between Hajj companies, noting that transfers from one campaign to another are available only once.
Regarding the cancellation policy and refund of amounts, the ministry stated that those who cancel their registration on or before December 30, 2026, will receive a full refund of all amounts paid for the package without any deductions. If cancellation occurs after this date, a full refund will be issued without deductions, provided that the vacant seat resulting from the cancellation is filled by a nominee from the reserve list and the replacement's registration procedures are completed.
The ministry confirmed that failure to pay the full advance amount for Hajj leads to the cancellation of the entire application. It added that details of Hajj campaigns and prices can be accessed through the "Inquire about Hajj Campaign Data" service via the "Sahl" app. (End) A.H. / K.H.
