Kuwait affirms support for international efforts to strengthen pandemic prevention and response

New York, 25 Sep (KUNA) -- Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Affairs, Ambassador Hamad Al-Mari, affirmed on Friday the State of Kuwait’s commitment and support for international efforts aimed at strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.

He made these remarks in a speech delivered during the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ambassador Al-Mari emphasized the importance of strengthening surveillance and early warning capabilities, as well as the exchange of information and expertise, alongside investing in health human resources to support national health systems and enhance their capacity to respond to pandemics.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance pandemic preparedness, prevention, and response, and to develop joint international efforts in this area.
