German Volkswagen Group recalls nearly one million vehicles from the market

Berlin, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- German automaker Volkswagen Group announced on Friday the recall of approximately one million vehicles of various models from the German market after the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) identified an issue that could cause steering system failure due to the breakage of a bolt.

In a statement, the group said the defect affects the Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Touran, Golf Variant, and Caddy models produced between September 24, 2013, and July 1, 2024. The recall also covers the Audi Q3 models produced between October 31, 2017, and May 23, 2024, with an estimated 700,000 vehicles potentially affected worldwide, including 58,555 in Germany.

The authority noted that resolving the issue requires replacing the steering system mounting bolt with one that is more resistant to corrosion.
