Kuwait reaffirms its commitment to strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries

New York, 24 Sep (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador Hamad Al-Mari, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Affairs, affirmed on Thursday the State of Kuwait's commitment to supporting and strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He made the statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his participation in the OIC's ministerial coordination meeting, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Mari expressed Kuwait's condemnation of the attacks on GCC member states and several Arab countries.

He also reiterated the country's denunciation of the attacks launched by the Houthi militia on the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have affected the Holy City of Makkah. He affirmed Kuwait's steadfast support for the Kingdom, emphasizing that its security is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the GCC states.

The meeting featured discussions on ways to enhance cooperation and consultation among Islamic countries, as well as the exchange of views on regional and international situations and issues.
