Crown Prince, Representative of His Highness the Amir, Receives NATO Secretary-General in New York

New York, 24 Sep (KUNA) -- His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, received today H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and his accompanying delegation at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the frameworks of the distinguished partnership and cooperation between the State of Kuwait and NATO were reviewed within the context of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, along with follow-up on training and technical cooperation programs through the NATO Regional Cooperation Center in Kuwait. The meeting also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as efforts to enhance international security and stability.

Attending the meeting were H.E. Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Dr. Sheikh Meshal Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; H.E. Ambassador Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi; H.E. Ambassador Sadiq Mohammed Ma'rifi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs; H.E. Ambassador Tariq Mohammed Al-Bunai, Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations; and H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Nasser Al-Obaidi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Minister's Office Affairs.
