Kuwait City, September 24 (KUNA) – A joint meeting was held today, Thursday, between Kuwaiti and Iraqi delegations, attended by several security and military leaders from both brotherly countries, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination and to exchange expertise in areas of mutual interest.
The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement on Thursday that the meeting took place during the Kuwaiti side’s reception of the head of the Security Media Cell of the Republic of Iraq, Major General Dr. Saad Maan. He emphasized the deep fraternal relations uniting Kuwait and Iraq and the commitment to continuing the development of cooperation and coordination frameworks between the competent authorities in both countries.
The statement added that several common topics and axes were discussed, foremost among them enhancing “security, media, and military cooperation” and developing coordination mechanisms to highlight joint efforts and facilitate information exchange.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen media coordination in confronting rumors and curbing their spread through rapid monitoring, response, and handling, alongside enhancing direct communication channels between the competent authorities in both countries to ensure swift responses to events and developments.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging expertise, as well as highlighting the joint efforts of security and military institutions in the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq, thereby strengthening the system of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Brigadier General Majbel Al-Rashidi, Head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Affairs Sector; Major General Nasser Busaleeb, Director General of the General Administration of Security Relations and Media; and Colonel Saad Al-Atwan, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, along with several other security and military leaders.
The Iraqi delegation comprised the head of the Security Media Cell, Major General Dr. Saad Maan; spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-No’mani; and several security leaders. (End) H.M.D / M.A.A
