Istanbul, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Ministry of Defense stressed on Thursday the necessity of halting the Israeli occupation’s systematic attacks on the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria, emphasizing that such actions undermine public confidence in international law and pose a threat not only to the region but to the entire world. This was stated by the ministry’s spokesperson, Naval Brigadier Zeki Ak Turk, at a press conference, in which he said that the Israeli occupation continues its expansionist approach in the region and that its attacks in the Gaza Strip continue to claim the lives of women and children. He added that “the occupation encourages settler terrorism and hinders the fulfillment of the needs of displaced Palestinians by blocking the entry of fuel and construction materials sent to the area as part of humanitarian aid activities, as well as hindering the operation of hospitals.” He noted that the Israeli occupation is also continuing its destruction in southern Lebanon, thereby violating United Nations Security Council resolutions, and that its attacks on residential areas in southern Syria are ongoing as well. The spokesperson pointed out that the future of the region cannot be built through unilateral use of force, but rather through respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
