Pakistan carries out airstrikes on 10 sites in Afghanistan

Islamabad, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, announced on Thursday that his country carried out precise airstrikes using drones targeting 10 sites within Afghan territory that were being used to store and launch drones against targets in Pakistan. In an official statement, Tarar said these strikes were in response to drones launched from Afghan territory that violated Pakistan’s airspace, noting that Pakistan’s air defense systems successfully detected, tracked, and destroyed all the drones before they reached their intended targets. He added that the strikes were carefully planned, precise, and proportionate, and were strictly limited to specific military objectives, emphasizing that Pakistan would not tolerate or accept attacks originating from Afghan territory, whether by terrorist groups or by the Taliban regime itself. These strikes come a day after Pakistani state media announced that Pakistan had shot down eight drones that entered its airspace from the Afghan side. (End) S.B.K./A.B.G.
