Kuwait and the United Nations Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Counter-Terrorism

New York, 24 Sep (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs, Ambassador Sadiq Ma'rifi, met on Wednesday evening with Alexander Zuev, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism (Acting), to discuss the scope of cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the United Nations in the field of counter-terrorism and ways to enhance it.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where the two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.

Both sides affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and supporting international efforts aimed at combating terrorism and extremism, and enhancing international peace and security. (End)
