Libyan-Tunisian talks to enhance military cooperation and secure the shared border

Tunis, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- Libyan Prime Minister and Defense Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah met on Tuesday with Tunisian Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohamed Ghoul to discuss enhancing military cooperation and securing the shared border.

According to a statement by the Libyan Government, the meeting, attended by Libyan Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two countries in military and security fields. It also discussed several issues of mutual interest, foremost among them securing the shared border, combating terrorism, training, and exchanging expertise.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination, developing cooperation, and exchanging expertise to enhance capabilities, raise readiness levels, address shared security challenges, and reinforce the security and stability of both countries. (End)
