Iraqi and British Prime Ministers Discuss Economic Cooperation and Regional Developments

Baghdad, September 23 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi held talks today, Wednesday, with his British counterpart Andy Burnham on economic cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in the region. The Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that the meeting, held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly sessions, addressed a range of issues of mutual interest and ways to enhance economic and developmental partnership between the two countries, as well as a review of the most prominent developments and challenges in the region. The statement quoted al-Zaidi as affirming Iraq’s commitment to opening up to constructive cooperation with Britain, and calling for increased participation and presence of British companies in investment and development in Iraq.
