Iraqi President Commends the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils on Its 50th Anniversary

Baghdad - 23 - 9 (KUNA) -- Iraqi President Nizar Amidi praised the Arab Union of Scientific Research Councils on Wednesday, extending his congratulations to all researchers and scientists working in the scientific research councils of Arab countries on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Union's establishment.

In a speech delivered at the ceremony held by the Union to mark its 50th anniversary, Amidi called for cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Arab research councils, the organization of workshops in all fields, and the formulation of plans and programs to help overcome the constraints of crises. He also urged leveraging the experiences of friendly countries and proactively addressing the potential risks of the misuse of rapidly advancing scientific developments.

Amidi also addressed the situation in the region and the dangers of war, affirming his country's commitment to joint efforts to overcome the current unsettled conditions and achieve a stable life, while preserving its sovereignty and that of all nations. He emphasized Iraq's aspiration to be a force for peace, good coexistence, and neighborly relations, ultimately contributing to a firm and lasting peace.
