Iraqi and Egyptian Prime Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations and Cooperation in Security and Development Fields

Baghdad - 23 - 9 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in security and development fields with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, in New York on Wednesday.

The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office stated in a statement that the talks held by both sides on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings addressed a range of issues of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.

The statement quoted al-Zaidi as affirming the “depth and strength of the relations and shared ties” linking the two countries, noting the possibility of benefiting from the Egyptian experience in several developmental and security aspects and in developing infrastructure.

The statement indicated that the Egyptian Prime Minister, for his part, renewed his invitation to al-Zaidi to visit Egypt and hold the fourth session of the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Committee. (End)
