Iraq and Oman draw 1-1 in the opening match of the 27th Gulf Cup

Jeddah, 23 Sep (KUNA) -- Iraq and Oman drew 1-1 on Wednesday in the opening match of their campaigns in Group A of the 27th Gulf Cup football tournament, being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Iraq took the lead through Mohammed Qasim in the sixth minute, before Oman equalized via Nasser Al-Ruwaichi in the 66th minute.

With the result, both teams earned one point in their tournament debut, while Group A also includes Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, who are set to face each other later today.
