Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior discusses with Bahraini Minister of Interior enhancing security cooperation and supporting Gulf cooperation
Manama, 23 Sep (KUNA) - Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, met with Bahrain's Minister of Interior, First Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, in Manama on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation and the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, aiming to support security and stability and strengthen the shared Gulf security agenda.
According to a statement by Bahrain's Ministry of Interior, the meeting took place during the Bahraini minister's reception of Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, a visit that reflects the strong fraternal ties and close historical relations between the two sister countries.
The statement noted that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef affirmed Kuwait's steadfast support for Bahrain in confronting any threats to its security and stability, underscoring the historical bonds linking the two countries and their peoples.
For his part, Bahrain's Minister of Interior welcomed Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef's visit, expressing pride in the high level of security cooperation and coordination achieved within the framework of joint efforts to address security challenges and regional changes.
In this context, he affirmed Bahrain's support for all measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security and stability, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the exchange of expertise across all areas of security work between the two countries to ensure public safety and security within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its shared principles for Gulf cooperation.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing security cooperation and coordination, as well as the exchange of expertise and information between the two sister countries' interior ministries, praising the advanced level of bilateral relations and the close cooperation witnessed in various security fields.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening the Gulf security partnership to address current challenges and support all initiatives that consolidate the pillars of security and stability and advance shared interests.
