Iraqi Prime Minister and Syrian President Discuss Bilateral Relations and Ways to Support De-escalation in the Region

Baghdad - 22 - 9 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi met on Tuesday with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to discuss bilateral relations and ways to support de-escalation in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, reviewed the general regional and international situation, as well as bilateral relations and means to develop them in line with mutual interests across various sectors and fields.

The statement noted that both sides also discussed efforts aimed at reinforcing de-escalation and reducing tensions in the region. (End)
