Chairman of the Yemeni Leadership Council Receives Reply from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait
Aden, September 22 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi received today, Tuesday, a reply from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in response to al-Alimi’s message, which His Highness received at the end of last month.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Kuwait’s Ambassador to Yemen, Falah Al-Mutairi, said he delivered the reply from His Highness the Amir to President Rashad al-Alimi, in response to al-Alimi’s message, which was conveyed by Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah Al-Zoubi during her visit to Kuwait at the end of last month.
He added that he conveyed to President al-Alimi the greetings of his brother, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, along with their best wishes for robust health and happiness for al-Alimi, the members of the Leadership Council, and the Yemeni people, as well as security, stability, and peace for Yemen.
For his part, President al-Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Mutairi to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to the Kuwaiti leadership, along with their wishes for the progress and prosperity of the fraternal Kuwaiti people under its wise leadership.
Al-Alimi praised Kuwait’s steadfast and sincere stance alongside Yemen, its people, political leadership, and national institutions, as well as its support for Yemen’s security, stability, unity, and territorial sovereignty.
He appreciated Kuwait’s political role in supporting the Yemeni government across various regional and international forums, as well as its generous humanitarian and developmental interventions, and the projects it has provided over decades that have left a profound impact on the lives of Yemenis. He expressed the Yemeni government’s aspiration to enhance this developmental and relief role at all levels.
He affirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to providing all facilitations and guarantees for Kuwaiti nationals to work in various governorates, noting that institutional decision-making unity would create an encouraging environment for resuming Kuwaiti projects in the coming phase.
He reiterated the Yemeni Republic’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian aggression targeting Kuwait, considering Kuwait’s security an inseparable part of Yemen’s and the region’s security.
The President commended the efficiency of the Kuwaiti army in deterring threats and highlighted Kuwait’s pioneering role in strengthening Arab solidarity and defending the security and stability of the region.
Al-Alimi pointed to recent developments in the local situation, in light of the escalation of military operations and criminal attacks by the “Houthi militias” within Yemeni territory and across the border with Saudi Arabia, as well as threats to international navigation routes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
He stressed the Yemeni state’s commitment to realizing the Yemeni people’s aspirations to restore their national institutions and overthrow the coup, considering this part of a broader struggle to protect the region’s security from chaos projects backed by the Iranian regime. (End) S.N.S. / N.S.A.
