UK: Partnership with the United States in Artificial Intelligence Enhances Defense Capabilities

London, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Andy Burnham affirmed on Tuesday that strengthening the partnership with the United States in the field of artificial intelligence and autonomous systems would bolster defense capabilities and enhance the mutual interests of both sides. The British government stated in a release that Burnham emphasized his country’s commitment to working with its partners to address the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, ensuring that rapid technological advancements are harnessed to make nations safer and stronger.

In this context, Burnham noted that his participation in the high-level meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly this week would focus on enhancing international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, working toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, and renewing efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East, stressing that developments abroad have implications for domestic conditions.

Burnham is expected to outline the United Kingdom’s preparations for hosting the Group of Seven (G7) summit next year before world leaders, with the summit scheduled to take place in Manchester in November. The United Kingdom will assume the G7 presidency from the United States following the Miami summit scheduled for December.
