US Secretary of State and Iraqi Prime Minister Emphasize the Importance of Disbanding Militias in Iraq

Washington, Sept 21 (KUNA) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi affirmed on Monday the importance of dismantling militias in Iraq. The U.S. State Department said in a statement that this came during a meeting between Rubio and al-Zaidi ahead of the opening of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The statement added that the two sides discussed the future of the partnership between the United States and Iraq.
