Iranian President Calls for Expanding Cooperation with Pakistan in Various Fields

Tehran, Sept 21 (KUNA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Monday for the enhancement and expansion of cooperation with Pakistan in various fields. The Iranian presidency said on its website that Pezeshkian, during his meeting with Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, expressed his satisfaction with the growing trajectory of relations between the two countries, while emphasizing the need to strengthen and expand cooperation in various areas, including energy, trade, and investments. Pezeshkian stressed the importance of boosting joint investments, increasing communication among various sectors, and facilitating economic cooperation between the two countries. For his part, Naqvi underscored the importance of elevating the level of relations between Tehran and Islamabad, saying, “We are determined to develop and enhance bilateral cooperation in various political, commercial, and economic fields.” He pointed to the progress in developing bilateral relations, while also affirming Islamabad’s readiness to continue and strengthen its cooperation with Tehran. Naqvi, who arrived in Tehran earlier today, had discussed with his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni the follow-up on previous agreements and the increase in the volume of trade between the two countries.
