Center for Educational Research Concludes Educational Conference on Integrating People with Disabilities into Education
Kuwait City, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- The Arab Center for Educational Research and Development for Gulf Countries (ACERDGC) concluded on Monday the proceedings of the educational symposium on integrating students with disabilities into education, held under the patronage of Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabtabaee, in partnership with the College of Education at Kuwait University, and with the participation of a select group of faculty members and specialists from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
In a statement to KUNA, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharika, Director of the Arab Center for Educational Research and Development for Gulf Countries, said the symposium represents an important step in enhancing educational and academic cooperation in the field of integrating students with disabilities. He noted that the discussions and scientific contributions enriched the dialogue on ways to develop inclusive education and meet students' needs.
Al-Sharika added that the recommendations reached by the symposium will be subject to approval in a later stage, emphasizing the importance of building on the visions, experiences, and practical proposals put forward by participants to support the development of educational policies and practices, and to enhance the utilization of the symposium's outcomes at the Gulf educational level.
Participants in the symposium stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Gulf educational and academic institutions, exchanging specialized expertise, and benefiting from studies and field experiences in developing mechanisms for integrating students with disabilities, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and achieving equal educational opportunities.
The symposium began on Sunday with academic and educational participation from Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, and is expected to yield a set of recommendations and proposals aimed at supporting the development of inclusive education policies and practices, and enhancing the integration of students with disabilities into the educational system.
