Mauritania strongly condemns the attack targeting a mosque in Pakistan

Algiers, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Mauritania expressed its strong condemnation and deep outrage on Sunday over the attack targeting a mosque in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, which resulted in casualties and injuries.

The Mauritanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement its categorical rejection of all forms of terrorism and violence, reaffirming its full solidarity with Pakistan and its support in confronting anything that threatens its security and stability.

The statement extended sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Pakistani police had announced on Friday that a suicide bomber targeted a mosque within a police facility in the city of Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during Friday prayers, which were being performed by worshippers, including security personnel and their families.
