Qatar condemns the incursion of an Israeli occupation government minister and settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha, September 20 (KUNA) – Qatar today condemned the incursion by Israeli extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of security forces, deeming it “a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and an unacceptable provocation of the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.” The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement that the Noble Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that all unilateral measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites are null and void under international law. The ministry also reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position and its support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people until they attain their legitimate rights, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Earlier today, the Jerusalem Governorate announced that the occupation government’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, had breached the Noble Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy military guard by the occupation army and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern section of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
