Russia: 1,600 protesters intercepted, including 450 near Moscow

Moscow, September 20 (KUNA) -- Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that Russian air defense systems intercepted more than 1,600 drones last night, including 450 drones that were shot down as they approached Moscow. In a press statement on Sunday, Sobyanin described the wide-scale drone attack targeting Moscow and its surroundings as clearly planned to disrupt the elections, adding that the attackers failed to achieve this objective. He noted that several drones managed to reach the territory of the Moscow oil refinery, while one drone struck a residential building, but confirmed that no casualties resulted from the attack.
