Saudi Arabia: Early warning issued in Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, AlUla, and Khamis Mushait
Jeddah, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defense announced on Friday the activation of an alert via the National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Situations in the provinces of Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, AlUla, and Khamis Mushait to warn of a potential threat. In a statement, the Directorate urged the public to remain calm and immediately proceed to the nearest safe location inside a building or an interior room away from windows, and to stay there until the danger has passed. It advised against leaving homes or buildings, avoiding open areas and glass structures, and refraining from standing on balconies or rooftops. The Directorate emphasized that if one is outdoors, they should enter the nearest building or take shelter behind a solid barrier, avoid gathering and filming altogether, and stay away from hazardous sites. While driving, it advised pulling over to the side of the road, away from bridges and tall buildings. It also urged people to call the emergency number (998) upon noticing a threat and to follow instructions issued by relevant authorities through official channels. (End) F.N. / M.A.H.A.
