Islamic Cooperation Organization Condemns Terrorist Attack Targeting Mosque in Pakistan

Jeddah, 18 Sep (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Friday the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several worshippers.

In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat affirmed that targeting houses of God and attacking safe worshippers constitute a heinous crime that contradicts all religious, moral, and humanitarian values, and exposes the criminal nature of terrorism, which shows no regard for the sanctity of human life or places of worship.

The Secretariat expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Government and people of Pakistan and to the families of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery, reaffirming its solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and violence.

It also reiterated the OIC’s steadfast position rejecting terrorism and extremism in all their forms and manifestations. (End)
