Lebanon: Two injured in Israeli military shelling

Beirut, Sept. 18 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's National News Agency reported that two people were injured on Friday in an Israeli military artillery shelling of the Shqra area in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon.

The agency stated that an Israeli military force advanced toward the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas, near the border in southeastern Lebanon, and dropped six sound grenades around the position where its troops were stationed at the town's internal entrance, coinciding with a reinforcement of the Lebanese Army in the vicinity.

It added that Israeli forces were searching several homes in Deir Mimas.

Earlier on Friday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Presidential Palace, where they discussed the general situation in Lebanon, particularly in the south, where Israeli incursions into its villages and towns have continued.
