Lebanon: Israeli occupation forces advance and artillery shelling resumes in the south

Beirut - 18 - 9 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli occupation forces intensified their field operations on Friday, advancing their military vehicles while conducting artillery shelling on two towns in the south of the country.

The agency reported that an Israeli force advanced toward the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas, located near the border in southeastern Lebanon, reaching the intersection area near a newly established position of the Lebanese Army, amid ongoing field movements in the region.

The agency noted that Israeli vehicles also advanced from the town of Al-Tayri toward the outskirts of Hadatha in the Bint Jbeil district.

It added that Israeli artillery shelled the towns of Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, as well as Wadi Al-Aziya, on Friday morning.

It is worth noting that Israeli occupation forces, which are present in dozens of southern villages and towns, have been carrying out systematic demolition operations at a near-daily pace, alongside continued airstrikes and artillery shelling.
