Foreign Minister Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Canadian Counterpart on Cooperation in Defense and Security

Kuwait City, September 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, signed today, Thursday, a memorandum of understanding with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, between the Government of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defence, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, on cooperation in the field of defence and security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the signing took place at the conclusion of Sheikh Jaraah’s meeting with the friendly Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, during his official visit to the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
The statement added that the meeting reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to intensifying Kuwait-Canada coordination across all levels and strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks in various fields, reflecting the robustness of the distinguished relations between the two countries and advancing them toward broader horizons to serve their shared interests.
The two sides also discussed recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of common interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability. (End) A.A. / M.M.J.
