Omani and British Foreign Ministers Discuss Efforts to De-escalate Tensions in the Region

Muscat, September 17 (KUNA) -- Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi and his British counterpart, Ed Miliband, discussed today, Thursday, developments in the regional situation and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and creating conditions to address outstanding issues through dialogue and negotiation. The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the two ministers exchanged views during a telephone conversation on ways to overcome obstacles hindering political efforts, and reaffirmed the need to build on opportunities for understanding and translate them into practical steps toward stabilizing calm, in a manner that respects the security of the countries in the region and their legitimate interests.
