Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the Houthi group's targeting of Saudi Arabia's Taif Governorate

Doha, Sept. 17 (KUNA) -- The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of the Taif Governorate in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Houthi group using a drone. The interception of the drone resulted in the scattering of debris, causing the death of one person, injuries to two others, and material damage to several buildings and vehicles.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these acts of aggression represent shameful hostile behavior, an unacceptable disregard for the lives of civilians, a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a clear breach of international law.
The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. It emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Qatar and the collective security system of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The Ministry also extended Qatar’s condolences to the family of the deceased, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and prayed to Almighty God to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people from all harm.
