ALCSO strongly condemns Houthi targeting of Makkah

Tunis, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- The Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) condemned in the strongest terms on Thursday the targeting of Makkah Al-Mukarramah by the Houthi militia, expressing its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the organization described this brazen aggression as an affront to the sanctity of the holiest Islamic sites and a violation of a religious, humanitarian, and civilizational status that commands the respect of Muslims worldwide.
It affirmed its absolute rejection of any acts targeting holy sites or threatening the security and safety of civilians, calling for the preservation of the sanctity of sacred places, respect for their status, and keeping them free from the dangers of tensions and conflicts.
ALECSO emphasized its support for all efforts aimed at protecting Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the sacred sites, and ensuring the security and safety of their visitors.
The statement reiterated the organization’s stance against any infringement on religious sanctities or any threat to their security and the safety of those who visit them, calling for respect for the sanctity of sacred places and their protection, as a responsibility demanded by human values, laws, and international covenants.
