Finance Ministry participates in the 16th meeting of the Gulf Committee of Senior Officials of the Economic and Development Authority via video conference
Kuwait, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- The Senior Officials Committee of the Economic and Development Authority (EDA) held its 16th meeting via video conference on Thursday, in preparation for the 10th meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee at the ministerial level of the EDA of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
The ministry stated in a press release that the meeting reviewed a report on the implementation of the decisions and directives issued by the GCC leaders during their 19th Consultative Meeting of the Supreme Council. It also discussed the EDA’s internal regulations and the latest developments in cooperation among member states regarding the realization and implementation of economic visions in the GCC countries.
The ministry noted that the meeting addressed several issues related to economic and development matters at the GCC level, as well as the policies and measures adopted by GCC countries to counter the economic impacts of Iranian aggression. It also examined the roadmap for initiatives and projects aimed at achieving economic unity.
It pointed out that the undersecretaries expressed consensus on the overall agenda items and reaffirmed the GCC countries’ commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation frameworks and deepening integration, reflecting the aspirations of the GCC leaders toward further progress in the path of the common Gulf work, particularly in the economic and development fields.
It is worth noting that it was agreed to submit the recommendations resulting from the committee’s work to the meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee at the ministerial level of the EDA of the GCC, in preparation for their adoption at the upcoming meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Yusuf Al-Hamad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy for Financial Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, while the Kuwaiti side was chaired by Asil Al-Manifi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance.
