Libya strongly condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi territory and expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom
Tunis, Sept 16 (KUNA) -- Libya strongly condemned on Wednesday the targeting of Saudi Arabian territory by the Houthi group, expressing its full solidarity with the Kingdom against this aggressive act.
The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity stated in a statement that Libya condemns the attempt to target the Holy City of Mecca using a drone launched by the Houthi group, emphasizing its categorical rejection of any attempts to target the direction of Muslim prayer or to violate the sanctity of the holy sites and their firmly established religious status among all Muslims.
The ministry underscored Libya’s support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its backing of all measures and precautions taken to ensure the protection of the Two Holy Mosques, safeguard the Kingdom’s security and stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
The ministry called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to preserve international peace and security, respect the sanctity of the holy sites, and prevent the recurrence of such acts that threaten security and stability in the region.
