La Liga: Atletico Madrid defeats Osasuna 4-0

Madrid, 16 Sep (KUNA) -- Atletico Madrid defeated visitors Osasuna 4-0 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday in the sixth round of the Spanish La Liga.

Canadian striker Jonathan David opened the scoring for the capital club in the 24th minute, while South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in added the second goal in the 54th minute. Robin Le Normand extended the lead with a third goal in the 63rd minute.

Alejandro Baena completed the scoring with the fourth and final goal in the 82nd minute, securing three points for Atletico and moving them up to third place in the league standings, two points behind leaders Barcelona and runners-up Real Madrid. Osasuna’s points total remained at seven, keeping them in 13th place.

Also in the sixth round, Barcelona will take on Racing Santander shortly at the Camp Nou, while Real Madrid defeated Alche 3-2 on Tuesday.
