Kuwait Investment Authority CEO Discusses Ways to Strengthen Economic and Investment Relations with Canadian Prime Minister

Kuwait - 16 - 9 (KUNA) -- The Managing Director of the Public Authority for Investment (PAI), Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to discuss ways to enhance economic and investment relations between Kuwait and Canada.
The PAI stated in a press release to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that the meeting took place on the sidelines of Sheikh Saud’s participation in the inaugural edition of the Canada Investment Summit 2026, held in Toronto on September 14 and 15.
The PAI noted that the Managing Director conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with their best wishes for Canada and its people for continued progress and prosperity.
It added that the discussions covered the long-standing historical relations between Kuwait and Canada, the PAI’s investment presence in the Canadian market, and ways to strengthen bilateral economic and investment ties.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Managing Director held a series of meetings with senior Canadian officials, including Foreign Minister Anita Anand and Ontario Premier Doug Ford. He also met with leaders of major Canadian pension funds and investment institutions.
The PAI said the meetings focused on exchanging views on developments in the global investment environment, economic and investment prospects in Canada, and exploring areas of mutual interest and opportunities to enhance cooperation and investment partnerships.
The PAI participated in the summit, which brought together a select group of leading global investors, business leaders, and government officials, with the aim of strengthening engagement between Canada and major global investment institutions and showcasing long-term investment opportunities in the Canadian market.
The PAI has maintained an investment presence in Canada for over 25 years. Its participation in the summit and accompanying meetings reflects its commitment to strengthening relations with international partners and maintaining engagement with leading governments and investment institutions in global markets.
