British Prime Minister and NATO Secretary General discuss security, Ukraine, and the Middle East

London, September 16 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Andy Burnham held talks today with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on shared security issues, Ukraine, and developments in the Middle East. The British Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that the meeting, held in Oxford, discussed ways for the United Kingdom to enhance and support innovation within NATO to ensure the alliance possesses future capabilities across all defense domains. The statement clarified that the Prime Minister outlined his recent visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, last month, reaffirming support for diplomatic efforts to secure additional defense systems for Ukraine. In this regard, he noted that the NATO Secretary General expressed gratitude and appreciation to the United Kingdom for its financial contribution of 100 million pounds sterling ($134.5 million) to provide further defensive equipment to Ukraine.
