Gulf Union Launches Digital Ticketing System for the 27th Gulf Cup

Doha, 16 Sep (KUNA) -- The Gulf Football Association (GFA) announced the launch of a digital ticketing system based on Safe Tix technology for the 27th Gulf Cup football tournament, to be hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from September 23 to October 6. The initiative, implemented in cooperation with the local organizing committee, is part of the GFA’s efforts to enhance digital solutions and elevate the fan experience.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the GFA explained that the ticketing system offers advanced levels of security and ease of use, enabling fans to manage and transfer tickets via mobile phones and enter stadiums using this technology. The system relies on a dynamic QR code that automatically refreshes, thereby strengthening protection against counterfeiting and unauthorized use, including the misuse of screen captures. Tickets can be scanned at stadium gates without requiring an internet connection.

The statement added that each fan can book up to six tickets per match and select the matches they wish to attend during both the group stage and the knockout rounds. Fans can purchase tournament tickets through the GFA’s official website or the GFF Tickets app, and add the tickets to their mobile digital wallets, providing a seamless digital experience from ticket purchase and management through to stadium entry.

The tournament will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, featuring eight Gulf national teams competing in 15 matches across two venues: King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City.
