Dubai, September 16 (KUNA) -- The Director General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Joint Production Programmes Organization, Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, affirmed today that strengthening partnerships among GCC media institutions embodies the spirit of integration and joint Gulf action, and supports efforts to develop the content industry and expand media cooperation.

The organization stated in a press release that these remarks were made during two meetings held by Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the sidelines of his participation in the 24th edition of the Arab Media Summit 2026 in Dubai, with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Bati Al Hamad, Chairman of the UAE National Media Council, and Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Naimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Information.

Quoting Sheikh Mubarak, the release said the organization’s participation in the Arab Media Summit stems from its commitment to maintaining an active presence at Gulf and Arab media events, and to leveraging platforms that bring together leaders, decision-makers, and media experts to discuss the future of the media and content industries.

He praised the stature of the summit, describing it as an important platform for dialogue and the exchange of views and expertise, and commended the efforts of the UAE, the Dubai Media Council, and the Dubai Press Club in organizing the event. He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in enhancing cooperation and integration among Gulf and Arab media institutions, and in exchanging expertise to contribute to the development of joint media work.

The release noted that the meetings reviewed the organization’s key works, programs, and future projects, and discussed ways to strengthen media cooperation and coordination within the Gulf, expand partnership areas, and exchange expertise, thereby supporting the development of Gulf content and enhancing its regional and international presence.

The Arab Media Summit 2026 is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, with the participation of a select group of officials, media leaders, journalists, and experts from the region and around the world.
