Foreign Minister Reviews Strategic Partnership with UK Foreign Secretary and Minister for the Commonwealth and Development

London, September 15 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reviewed with British Foreign Secretary and Secretary of State for International Development Ed Miliband the solid strategic partnership between the two friendly countries and the close historical ties uniting their peoples.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement on Tuesday that this discussion took place during a meeting between the two sides as part of Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah’s official visit to the British capital, London.

The statement conveyed both sides’ commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation frameworks across various fields, particularly political, defense, investment, and cultural areas, reflecting the robustness of the distinguished relations between the two countries and pushing them toward broader horizons to serve their shared interests.

The latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region, as well as ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, were also discussed.

Both sides emphasized their commitment to intensifying Kuwaiti-British coordination across various fronts and levels, in light of the delicate circumstances the region is experiencing, thereby strengthening their capacity to confront current challenges and respond to rapid developments.
