Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Developments in Occupied Palestinian Territories with Secretary-General of Fatah

Doha, September 15 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today with Jibril Rajoub, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah movement, on developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting took place during Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman’s reception of the Fatah Central Committee member in Doha. The two sides reviewed their cooperative relations and ways to support and strengthen them, and discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, emphasizing the necessity of ending the division and consolidating Palestinian unity to achieve their legitimate national rights, foremost among which is the right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In a separate statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, held talks with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi ad-Din Salem on bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and enhance them, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Al-Khalifa reiterated Qatar’s full support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, and Qatar’s steadfast backing of the Sudanese people in realizing their aspirations for peace, development, and prosperity. (End) S S S / M A A
