Kuwaiti Walid Al-Nassif wins "Media Personality of the Year" award at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai

Dubai, September 15 (KUNA) – Waleed Al-Nassif, editor-in-chief of the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, won the “Media Personality of the Year” award as part of the Arab Media Awards during the Arab Media Summit 2026, held in Dubai on Tuesday.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after receiving the honor, Al-Nassif expressed his happiness at the recognition, describing it as the fruit of collective efforts and teamwork by the Al-Qabas newspaper staff. He emphasized that the achievements attained are the result of the cooperation, dedication, and commitment of all employees to continue the newspaper’s media journey.

Al-Nassif dedicated this achievement to the State of Kuwait and to the local Kuwaiti press across its various institutions, affirming that any accomplishment by Kuwaiti media is an achievement for Kuwait, reflecting its distinguished and long-standing journalistic and media tradition, as well as its prominent presence in the Arab arena.

The recognition of Al-Nassif came during the Arab Media Awards ceremony, held as part of the summit hosted by Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Center from September 15 to 17.

The “Media Personality of the Year” award is one of the categories of the Arab Media Awards, granted by a decision of the awards’ board of directors in recognition of prominent media figures. This year, the awards celebrate their 25th anniversary since their inception.

The Arab Media Summit 2026 is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, and under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
