Aden, September 15 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni government today Tuesday strongly condemned the “terrorist” attacks carried out by the Houthi militia using ballistic missiles and drones on civilian targets in the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif, which resulted in injuries to several civilians.
In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, reflecting the Houthi militia’s determination to target civilians, terrorize the innocent, and expand the scope of escalation.
The statement expressed Yemen’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom in confronting all threats to its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as backing its right to take necessary measures to protect its citizens and residents, and to safeguard its facilities and assets in accordance with international law.
The statement placed full responsibility for these attacks and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region on the Houthi militia, while reiterating the Yemeni Republic’s rejection of allowing its territory to be used as a launching pad for attacks on neighboring countries.
It called on the international community to adopt a firm stance to halt Houthi attacks, cut off the militia’s funding sources and arms supplies, and support the Yemeni government in restoring state institutions and consolidating state authority over weapons and sovereign decision-making, thereby protecting the Yemeni people and contributing to preserving regional security and stability.
