French Foreign Minister: We support holding legislative and presidential elections in Palestine

Paris, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Tuesday that his country supports holding legislative and presidential elections in Palestine. Barrot emphasized in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that “anyone concerned with peace and security in the Middle East should support the holding of legislative and presidential elections in Palestine,” affirming that France and Europe would play their part in this regard. Earlier, on Thursday, Jibril Rajoub, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), announced that the first legislative elections in the Palestinian territories in two decades might not take place on the scheduled date of November 28.
