Egypt and German Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments

Cairo, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, held talks today on Tuesday regarding developments in the regional situation, ways to de-escalate tensions, and contain unrest in the region, as well as means to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that this discussion took place during a phone call between the two ministers, who praised the progress witnessed in Egyptian-German relations in recent years across various fields. The statement added that the ministers expressed their aspiration to continue joint efforts in the coming period to elevate bilateral relations to broader horizons, reflecting the extent of shared interests and the level of cooperation between the two countries. On the regional front, the two ministers emphasized the necessity of intensifying efforts aimed at de-escalation and containing tensions in the region, stressing the importance of safeguarding navigation security in the Red Sea and ensuring the smooth flow of international trade in accordance with the rules of international law. They also underscored the importance of coordinating regional and international efforts to advance diplomatic solutions, which would contribute to preventing the expansion of the conflict, containing tensions, and restoring regional security and stability.
