Saudi Cabinet Condemns Continued Houthi Militia Attacks on the Kingdom

Jeddah, September 15 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Cabinet today strongly condemned the continued attacks by the Houthi militia on civilian targets and civilians in the Kingdom. Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari in a statement that the condemnation came following a cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

The Cabinet affirmed that the security of the country, the integrity of its territory, and its resources are a firm principle that tolerates no infringement, and that its legitimate right to defend itself, protect its sovereignty, citizens, residents, and vital interests is guaranteed in accordance with the UN Charter and international law provisions.

The Cabinet also reviewed developments in the region and the world, and the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to consolidate peace and security by relying on dialogue in managing international issues, and working to support cooperation prospects with the international community through its bodies and organizations, thereby contributing to strengthening collective responses to shared global challenges.

The Cabinet noted the Kingdom’s reaffirmation at the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it has, over decades, established its position as a reliable energy source and an active partner in stabilizing global energy markets, while simultaneously advancing the construction of a national energy mix from various sources that is more diverse and sustainable, including the addition of nuclear energy to this mix within a robust regulatory framework consistent with international commitments.

On another note, the Cabinet delegated the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Authority, or his deputy, to negotiate with the Kuwaiti side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Authority and the Insurance Regulation Unit of the State of Kuwait concerning cooperation and information exchange in the field of insurance and reinsurance, and to sign it.
