Ramallah, Sept. 15 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that a Palestinian was martyred on Tuesday morning after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the city of al-Bireh, in the central West Bank. The ministry said in a statement that Ziad Jaber, 54, was killed by occupation fire in the Umm al-Sharait neighborhood of al-Bireh, adjacent to Ramallah. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society had previously stated in a press release that its teams responded to a Palestinian shot in the abdomen and thigh, noting that paramedics attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation before he was transported to a hospital where his death was confirmed. According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces shot Jaber inside his home and executed him during a raid and search operation in the neighborhood, during which they arrested three Palestinians, one of whom was the martyr’s nephew.
