Washington, Sept. 14 (KUNA) – U.S. President Donald Trump downplayed claims of risks posed by artificial intelligence on Monday, describing them as part of a “malicious conspiracy” against a sector in which the United States maintains global leadership. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump responded to growing warnings about the dangers of AI development, stating that “the only guardrail, or what is known as guardrails and boundaries, that AI needs is a strong and very intelligent (high-IQ) president, and the United States has that in abundance.” He accused those he called “promoters” of those warnings of weaving a “malicious conspiracy” against the AI sector and against data centers, adding that China is “the only party that benefits from this.” He said, “Whoever wins the AI race wins everything. We are ahead of China and everyone else in this field, and we will remain so.” Trump also affirmed that the U.S. administration possesses “very broad criminal and regulatory authority” over AI companies, downplaying concerns linked to the rapid advancement of AI.
