UK and US sign agreements to accelerate the commercial rollout of nuclear fusion energy

Kuwait City, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- Britain and the United States signed agreements today, Monday, aimed at accelerating the commercialization of nuclear fusion energy through the use of artificial intelligence, computing, and other technologies. The British government announced in a statement that one of the agreements signed on the sidelines of the Global Nuclear Fusion Summit in London will see collaboration between the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, combining world-leading expertise in artificial intelligence, computing, and nuclear fusion to accelerate the development of commercial nuclear fusion. It added that the agreement will help create jobs in the fusion sector in both countries, noting that Britain expects to generate around 10,000 jobs in this sector by 2030. Nuclear fusion is the process of merging hydrogen atoms to release vast amounts of energy, mimicking the process that generates energy in the sun. (End) ash/nw
