Lebanese President: Car Racing is a Bridge for Communication Between Lebanon and the World

Beirut, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Monday described auto racing as a bridge connecting Lebanon with the world, highlighting the role of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in promoting road safety culture and developing motorsports.
In a statement, the Lebanese presidency said that President Aoun, during a meeting with FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem, accompanied by Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sports Nora Berqdarayan, emphasized that hosting the Lebanon International Rally and Bin Sulayem’s presence reflect Lebanon’s openness to international sports institutions, enhance its presence at global forums, and position the country as a potential destination for sports and tourism events.
He noted that sports have become “an economic driver through the championships and races organized, which revitalize tourism and investment and attract international sponsors and major companies.”
For his part, Bin Sulayem, according to the statement, reaffirmed his continued logistical and financial support for rally races in Lebanon, revealing his intention to host a major championship on Lebanese soil. He also praised the role played by the Lebanese Automobile and Tourism Club in organizing the Lebanon Rally annually.
